Research experience:
Professor He explores the boundaries of materials processing technology, solid mechanics, and material microscopy, in order to provide game-changing manufacturing solutions to high-performance challenges.
He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in the China. Following postdoctoral work at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, he was appointed as the Assistant Prof. of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2016.
Ji does research in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering. His group at SJTU mainly focuses on:
developing new material testing methods and precise material models for mechanical properties;
employing these methods to improve the physical understanding of the plastic deformation, damage and necking failure, phase transformation from the Micro to Macro mechanisms;
creating new manufacturing processes design based on this improved understanding.
