Research Experience:
Prof.Cheng-chen,Cheng was born in Taiwan and used to be a high school teacher for several years. In 2002, he got the Ph.D. from National Taiwan Normal University and began my academic career in National Tainan Normal University then transferred to National Central University in 2004 till now.
His research topic focus on East Asia history, especially in modern Taiwan education, society, daily life, aborigines, and Japan colonialism. He had wrote some academic books and papers in these fields, such as investigation history, modern educational history, and aboriginal history. Besides, he had edited history textbooks for senior students study as well. Over past two decades, for seeking research materials, making new academic circumstance and writing down academic papers, he had been invited be a visiting professor by foreign research institute or university, like Hokkaido University (Japan), Jeju National University (Korea), Universitas Sebelas Maret (Indonesia), and China Social and Science Research Institute, Xiamen University (Mainland China). Not only broaden my vision, made good friends, but also refined the quality of academic study as a result.
In his opinion, all kinds of research experiences and results should be met the educational and practicality, for example of history, the aims are arousing the enthusiasm of people to realize the different culture and history, reflecting themselves to past, concerning about all culture relics and bottom people, and finally leading them to understand what is the value of history and culture. Being a history professor, he wish he could educate next generation to cherish what they have today, and lead them to join the culture Industry.
